Interview-Winning Resumes and Targeted Search Strategies for Today’s Job Market

.

As the job market begins to improve, competition is tougher than ever. How do you create a resume that differentiates you in the market? What does your cover letter need to say? Be prepared for this year's National Conference and the employers who will be in attendance. Join Sue Sarkesian, Co-founder and Partner of The Resume Group as she guides you through the essential steps to creating a powerful resume that gets results.  Even if you are not planning to attend National Conference this fall, this session is vital for anyone who may be planning a job search this year!

Sue will provide you with valuable information to develop a focused search strategy designed to get your resume to the right people at the right companies. You'll learn how to work most effectively with executive recruiters, how job boards can help (and hinder) your search, and what search strategies have the most impact. Whether you’re a new graduate, mid-level professional, or a senior-level executive, the right resume can significantly shorten your job search, saving you tens of thousands of dollars in lost income.

The Resume Group is a premier resume development and search strategy firm that offers more than 25 years of combined industry experience. Sue and her Co-Partner, Elaine Basham, have helped thousands of job-seekers at all levels of their careers to stand out from the competition and achieve success in their job search.

Be sure to bring your resume and schedule an appointment with Sue for a complimentary resume evaluation and market analysis. Chapter members will receive a $100 discount on the Executive-level Package or a $50 discount on the Professional-level Package.

If you'd prefer to get started right away, e-mail your resume now to sue@theresumegroup.com to schedule your resume evaluation and market analysis as soon as possible.

Successfully Use Keywords in Federal Applications

.

In this practical, interactive presentation, you will learn about the Federal application process and how to address Federal vacancy announcements and job requirements. You are strongly encouraged to bring a copy of your resume and a vacancy announcement. Handouts will be provided and Adelle Dantzler Williams, M.S. Ed., Certified Federal Job Search Trainer (CFJST) will cover the following topics:

  • What are keywords and why is it important to identify them?
  • How do I find keywords in vacancy announcements?
  • How do I arrange a Federal resume using keywords?
  • How do I approach writing assessments and narratives using keywords?

.

How to Use a Vision Board to Create Personal and Career Success

Join success coach Dr. Nicole Cutts in this fun experiential exercise as she explains the principles behind Vision Boards and leads you through the steps of creating your own Vision Board. A Vision Board is an actual physical picture of your desired reality. It forms a clear sharp image which then acts as a blueprint, attracting and focusing energy into your goals and Vision of Success. This tool has been used by business leaders, organizations and individuals to clarify and achieve their Vision, Mission and Ultimate Success. Participants will leave this session with greater clarity about how to take their careers to the next level. Please come with a written paragraph or two about your ideal job or career and consider signing up for a complimentary success coaching session with Dr. Nicole Cutts.
